UK Funds: Performance & Attribution Review, Q3 2024
Summary
In the third quarter of 2024, active UK funds delivered an average return of +2.65%, outperforming the SPDRs FTSE All Share ETF by +0.18%. A slight majority of 51.5% of funds managed to beat the benchmark.
Fund returns ranged from a high of +7.8% to a low of -3.7%, with most funds falling between 0% and 6%. Value and Yield strategies once again led performance, while Growth and GARP funds underperformed the benchmark on average.
Stock-level analysis highlights that underweights in AstraZeneca, HSBC, Shell, BP, and Glencore contributed positively, while underweights in Rolls Royce, British American Tobacco, and Unilever negatively impacted relative returns.
