Copley created Active Fund Intelligence (AFI). We set the standard for understanding active management.
Active management moves trillions of dollars across global markets every day. Yet until now, no one had built a systematic way to see how that capital was truly positioned - across funds, across markets, across time.
AFI changes that. Not just for fund managers defending their differentiation. But for every market participant who needs to understand how active capital shapes the world they operate in.
Steven spent years as an Emerging Markets trader and sales trader at Morgan Stanley and Citi - taking risk, managing client business, trading directly in markets.
He could see individual trades. He could see single funds. But the thing nobody could see was the bigger picture - how the entire active universe was positioned, where conviction was genuinely building, where crowding was forming before anyone noticed.
That information simply didn't exist in any usable form.
In 2014 Steven built Copley Fund Research to change that. AFI is the intelligence layer he wished every participant in active markets had always had.
Behind Steven is a leadership team with decades of experience at firms including Goldman Sachs, Pictet Asset Management, Fideuram, Border to Coast Pension Fund and the Australian Retirement Trust. Together, they ensure AFI reflects the realities of fund managers, allocators, and corporates worldwide.
To create a new standard for understanding active management — giving fund managers, allocators, corporates and market participants the visibility and analytical framework they need to see active capital clearly, for the first time.
